Wanda Group Invests US$10 Billion In Chengdu Healthcare Park

In partnership with the Chengdu Municipal Government, Wanda Group will invest US$10 billion to establish a healthcare industry park in Chengdu, China.

AsianScientist (Apr. 17, 2017) – Dalian Wanda Group Co. Ltd., China’s largest commercial property owner, has set aside RMB 70 billion (~US$10 billion) to build a healthcare industry park in Chengdu, China.

Chengdu Municipal Government and Wanda Group will jointly build the park into a world-class center of the healthcare industry. The two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 6, 2017.

The park will consist of two zones: the Hospital Zone and the Healthcare Industry Zone. The Hospital Zone will host two international top-notch general hospitals and eight international first-rate specialized hospitals. The Healthcare Industry Zone will host 30 related companies.

The Chengdu healthcare park marks Wanda’s second foray into China’s rapidly growing healthcare market. In 2016, Wanda, which is owned by China’s richest man Mr. Wang Jianlin, invested US$2.3 billion to build three hospitals across China.
