2019 Edition Of Asian Scientist 100 Announced

Each year, Asian Scientist Magazine highlights 100 outstanding thinkers and innovators from Asia who are pushing the envelope with their research.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AsianScientist (Mar. 4, 2019) – Asia has risen rapidly to become a vibrant hub of cutting-edge research and development, driven by talented scientists who continue to push the boundaries of their respective scientific fields. As Asia’s leading publisher of science and technology news, Asian Scientist Magazine seeks to highlight outstanding scientists, innovators and business leaders from the region.

Now into its fourth consecutive year, the Asian Scientist 100 (2019 edition) comprises individuals who have received a national or international prize in 2018 for their scientific research. This prize must involve a competitive selection procedure. Alternatively, in the same period, the honoree could have made a significant contribution in scientific discovery or leadership that has benefited either academia or industry.

This year’s honorees have made significant contributions to diverse disciplines ranging from materials science to molecular biology and particle physics, with representatives from China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. The list is by no means exhaustive but captures the essence of the region’s ingenuity and enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

“We hope that with our yearly publication of the Asian Scientist 100, outstanding researchers from Asia will be recognized for their fervent passion to further scientific knowledge and impact people’s lives,” said Dr. Juliana Chan, editor-in-chief of Asian Scientist Magazine.

The list, in no order of merit, is available online here. For media enquiries, please contact Samantha at [email protected].
