Wang won the 2019 The Future Science Prize (Physical Science Prize) for the experimental discovery of a new type of neutrino oscillation, which opens the door for new theories beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. His work is said to potentially be the key to understanding the Universe’s matter-antimatter asymmetry. Wang, along with his colleague Dr. Luk Kam-Biu, led the Daya Bay Rector Neutrino Experiment, where they made their ground-breaking discovery.
