Sun was awarded the 2023 IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Women’s Distinguished Career Award for her contributions to wireless communications and the wireless community. She is also an active member of several telecommunication panels and committees including the chair of the Infocomm Media Development Authority’s Special 5G Strategy Task Force.
