Murthy, co-founder of global software consulting company Infosys, was awarded the 2017 Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Global Innovation. Under his leadership, Infosys laid the foundation for India’s success in IT services outsourcing. In addition to being appointed a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 2007, Murthy received the Padma Vibhushan and was made an officer in the French Legion of Honor in 2008.
