Qiu was awarded the 2023 President’s Science Award for his breakthroughs in topological thermal materials and diffusion physics, as well as his work identifying the fundamental framework in structured thermal metamaterials, quantum heat transport, advanced cooling technologies and nonreciprocal thermal photonics.
