Asia alone has developed at least seven vaccines currently undergoing large-scale, multi-country phase 3 clinical trials. Five of these vaccines come from China, with the remaining contenders developed by Indian biotechnology companies.




The rising stars

China and India aren’t the only Asian players in the race for a COVID-19 vaccine. Scientists across the region are pulling out all the stops—even growing the vaccine in plants. We’ve listed down some of the most promising early-stage vaccines to emerge from Asia.
