Say Hi To Pfeiffer’s Versatile And Powerful Vacuum, HiCube Eco

With its flexible and superior technology, Pfeiffer Vacuum’s HiCube Eco turbopumping station is an ideal solution for all high and ultra-high vacuum applications.

AsianScientist (Jul. 3, 2020) – From the humble household vacuum to semiconductor clean rooms, vacuum technology has a vast spectrum of applications spanning everyday use to industrial applications. For instance, we would not be able to enjoy solar power or liquid crystal display screens without vacuums, as the underlying thin-film deposition technology relies on the ability to generate high-quality vacuums.

Given the diverse range of applications and the specifications unique to each, setting up a vacuum system is no easy feat. For over 130 years, Pfeiffer Vacuum has been synonymous with high-end vacuum technology and comprehensive solutions. Their HiCube Eco Turbo pumping station—offers customers never-before-seen versatility, satisfying the widest range of requirements in pumping speeds ranging from 35 l/s to 685 l/s.

Ideal adaptation to all applications

A central part of vacuum systems are the pumps for vacuum generation. In particular, achieving high to ultra-high vacuum conditions that are almost one trillionth (10−12 mbar) of our atmospheric pressure require both a backing pump to clear gas from the chamber and a turbopump to achieve the desired vacuum state. What is special about the HiCube vacuum solution is that it combines a turbopump from the HiPace series with a backing pump designed for the user’s specific application needs.

Due to its numerous options for combining different turbopumps and backing pumps, the HiCube Eco can be configured for almost all high vacuum and ultra-high vacuum processes. Thanks to its modular design, users can choose perfectly matched turbopumps and backing pumps, allowing them to ‘plug and play’ according to their needs.

When combined with the HiPace 300 H turbopump, the HiCube system can reach high pressures even faster than before. Up to now, conventional turbopumps could only reach these pressures if considerably large and more energy-intensive backing pumps were used.

Greener and simpler to use

In addition, all HiCube Eco turbo pumping stations are fitted with energy-efficient backing pumps that have a DC drive. If there is no gas load in the vacuum, the pumping station automatically reduces the backing pump output. This conserves energy and in turn saves costs.

Collecting and analyzing data from the HiCube Eco is a breeze and can even be done remotely with a USB converter that is available as an accessory. The converter reads out all operating parameters and pressures recorded by the optional pressure sensors. Even without the optional converter, no additional control system is needed. Instead, users can download the TurboViewer software and compatible LabView drivers free from charge from www.pfeiffer-vacuum.com to record and analyze their data.
