Tiny Technologies, Incredible Impact

From lightweight sports equipment to potable water, here are ten ways that nanotechnology is changing our lives.

#8 WATER FILTRATION

The lack of potable water is a major global health issue that nanotechnology could potentially address. Researchers from India to South Africa have developed low cost prototypes, from nanofilter teabags to composite nanomaterial filters, which have demonstrated an ability to remove harmful microbes and heavy metal contaminants from water.

While still in the early stages, wide-scale adoption of nanotechnology based water treatment is only a matter of time.
