Khalid was part of a 12-member international team that won the 2024 ACM Gordon Bell Prize for Climate Modelling for developing an exascale climate emulator that uses AI and high-performance computing to generate faster, high-resolution climate predictions. He is the first Pakistani scientist to receive the prestigious award.
