Thongchot was honored with the L’Oréal Women in Science Award 2023 for her work in combating triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Using a treatment method called chimeric antigen receptor or CAR T-cells, Thongchot’s research explored using the patients’ own modified white blood cells to efficiently target and eradicate TNBC type cancer cells.
