Sahu was conferred the 2025 United Nations Environment Programme Champions of the Earth Award, the highest environmental honor, in the Inspiration and Action category. Recognised for her leadership in climate action and ecosystem restoration, Sahu has spearheaded initiatives to strengthen coastal resilience, biodiversity conservation and community-led environmental stewardship in Tamil Nadu. Her work integrates policy, science and public engagement to address climate change while supporting sustainable livelihoods and environmental awareness across vulnerable communities.
