Davide was appointed the 44th National Scientist of the Philippines in 2024. He is renowned for his pioneering work in plant pathology and nematology, particularly his research on plant-parasitic nematodes. Dubbed the “Father of Philippine Nematology,” he also founded the Farmer-Scientist Training Program, which has empowered some 70,000 Filipino farmers nationwide.
