Palittapongarnpim has made extensive contributions to tuberculosis research, particularly in the development of genotyping tools of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and the molecular epidemiology of the bacterium. His work in applying genomics to track and predict the spread of tuberculosis has offered new perspectives on outbreak management and public health interventions.
