Pham won the Ramanujan Prize 2019 for his outstanding research in the field of complex analysis, specifically pluripotential theory, complex Monge-Ampère equations and log canonical thresholds. The prize also recognizes his contributions to the advancement of mathematics in his home country, Vietnam. Pham has the honor of being the first Vietnamese mathematician to publish in mathematics’ most prestigious journal, Acta Mathematica.
