Srinivasan was the 2023 honorable mention recipient of the Underwriters Laboratories-ASEAN-U.S. Science Prize for Women. She was recognised for her research on improving the performance of batteries in electric vehicles using energy efficient design principles.

Her current focus is on advanced energy storage and circular economy–specifically novel energy storage solutions and recycling e-waste and lithium-ion batteries. Her work involves the synthesis, fabrication and application of nanoscale materials and architectures to improve the performance of electrochemical energy storage devices.

To accomplish a circular economy, she also explores the possibility of recycling lithium ion battery waste using novel hydrometallurgical techniques.
