Medecins Sans Frontieres was awarded the inaugural LUI Che Woo Prize 2016 for its key role in controlling the 2010 Haiti cholera outbreak and the 2014 West African Ebola epidemic. Liu, president of MSF Hong Kong, accepted the prize on behalf of the international humanitarian aid non-governmental organization.
