Chugai Opens Sales Office In China Medical City

Chugai has opened an import, sales and marketing subsidiary in China Medical City.

AsianScientist (Jan. 2, 2014) – Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has signed an agreement with the Taizhou Medical High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, a special economic zone in China, to establish an import, sales and marketing subsidiary in China Medical City (CMC).

CMC will be a base for Chugai Pharma to conduct its sales and marketing for the Chinese pharmaceutical market. Previously, Chugai had exported products to pharmaceutical companies and wholesalers located in China, and consigned the distribution of products to these companies.

Now that Chugai is distributing the products directly, the flexibility of its business activities in China is expected to increase, it says.

“We are extremely happy to be able to establish a sales and marketing function in China. We intend to build upon the business experience and network we have established in China thus far to further strengthen our sales and marketing function,” said Samu Nagayama, CEO of Chugai.
