Yi received the 2025 Outstanding Cambodian Scientists Award (Gold) for his impactful research in public health, particularly on infectious diseases, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health. His work has informed evidence-based interventions and policies that improve community health outcomes in Cambodia and the region.
