AIT And CAS Collaborate On Low Carbon Energy Demonstration

The Austrian Institute of Technology and the Qingdao Innovation and Chinese Academy of Sciences have collaborated on low carbon energy initiatives.

AsianScientist (Oct. 18, 2013) – The Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the Qingdao Innovation and Incubation Center for Industry Technologies of Chinese Academy of Sciences (QIIC) signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) to demonstrate ways to support low carbon energy.

The MOU states that both institutions will join hands to conduct bilateral, domestic and international research projects as well as provide scientific support for the “low carbon energy technology, energy efficiency buildings and sustainable urban development” demonstration project. Both AIT and QIIC are going to cooperate in the exchange and training of research staff and students.

AIT will contribute by developing and using measurement technology and simulation tools to combine decentralized energy producers, efficient distribution networks and buildings with efficient heating and cooling technologies to form a single, sustainable energy system.

In addition, QIIC also intends to develop an Applied Energy and Energy Efficient Center, which will act as a solution platform for distributed energy application in urban area.
