Charles River Laboratories Acquires BRASS

Charles River Laboratories has acquired BRASS Pte Ltd, a company that manufactures biopharmaceutical and medical products.

AsianScientist (Oct. 21, 2013) – Charles River Laboratories has announced the acquisition of BRASS Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based company, to accelerate the growth of its microbial detection and identification portfolio.

Under this acquisition, BRASS will be known as Charles River Endotoxin and Microbial Detection Singapore Pte Ltd (Charles River Singapore) and will add to Charles River’s presence in Asia, including Korea, India and China.

BRASS, an accredited microbiology subcontract test laboratory, specializes in endotoxin testing, bacterial and fungal identification of environmental isolates, sterilization validation, microbial quality control analysis and lot release testing of biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and medical device products.

Serving more than 15 years in the biomedical sector in Singapore and South East Asia, BRASS is a provider for microbiology services. Since 1977, BRASS has been Charles River’s distributor for endotoxin test reagents and accessories in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
