U.S. Prostate Cancer Foundation Launches PCF China

The Prostate Cancer Foundation announced yesterday the launch of PCF China, a research initiative that will identify, fund, and promote innovative research projects within China.

AsianScientist (Feb. 20, 2012) – The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), the world’s leading philanthropic organization on prostate research, announced yesterday the launch of PCF China, a research initiative that will identify, fund, and promote innovative research projects within China.

Working with established Chinese institutions such as the Chinese Urological Association, PCF China will conduct R&D into prostate cancer in China as well as encourage collaborations through the PCF World-Wide Knowledge Exchange.

The foundation will also hold the First Annual PCF China Scientific Symposium on March 9, 2012 at the Peking University Wu Jieping Urology Center.

The program, held in association with the China Urological Association, will feature presentations from both Chinese and American prostate cancer experts.

Winners of the PCF China Young Investigator Awards will also be announced on March 9, and the award will provide a three-year grant of US$37,500 per year.

Founded in 1993, PCF has raised more than $475 million and provided funding to over 1,600 research projects at nearly 200 institutions in 15 countries around the world.
